These works show Texas houses and landscapes, rural England, my Dallas neighborhood, people I know, animals, trains, cars, places I visit. The earlier works have figures and objects used as fetishes, and displaced spaces and times. In the most recent paintings the space and time are unified, the subjects are spontaneously chosen, the brushwork is more important.
The movement in my work from the spatially disjunctive to the rational, parallels a time in my life when traveling, reading, and building things have been significant activities.
Brushwork at this point almost separates from the image, making a secondary imagery of its own.
